Thomas L. Manuel

Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

Tom co-founded NuTek Food Science in 2006 and brings many years of successful experience in the food industry. His career includes work in the grain, meat and poultry industries, including 26 years at ConAgra Foods. Tom has brought together an accomplished management team with extensive food industry experience. His broad network of relationships has helped NuTek Food Science establish a strong presence in the U.S. and Globally. Tom received a Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Sam Rao

Vice President & Chief Innovator

Dr. Sam co-founded the company and has led the development of the company’s ground breaking and proprietary sodium reduction ingredients resulting in multiple patents, and the products have been on the market since 2010. Sam’s work as a leading R&D scientist in the food industry for 25+ years is well-known, with numerous and commercially successful health & wellness products. Prior to that, Sam spent several years in Brazil teaching and doing research. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Food Science and Technology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Sam holds a Doctorate in Food Science and Technology from Kansas State University.

Brian Boor

President & Chief Operating Officer

Brian brings more than 15 years of sales and operational experience across diverse industries, with an emphasis on building brand value, driving sustainable growth, and increasing profitability. Prior to joining the company, Brian was the Senior Vice President, Global Sales & Customer Operations at Olam International, a global leader in the supply chain management of agricultural products and food ingredients. Previously he held various leadership roles in sales and customer operations at ConAgra Foods. Brian has a Bachelor of Science from Kansas State University.

Arthur E. Stickley

Chief Financial Officer

Arthur’s financial leadership includes work for both publicly and privately held companies in domestic and international consumer food companies, including 23 years at General Mills. He’s experienced in managing internal and external growth opportunities including acquisitions, due diligence, negotiation and integration. Arthur’s key strength is building financial teams that excel in cross-functional relationships. Arthur received a Master's in Business Administration degree from the University of St. Thomas, and a Bachelor' in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin.

Frank E. Davis

Executive Vice President of Operations

Frank brings more than 30 years of food manufacturing and supply chain management experience. He has served in progressively expanding senior leadership roles with firms including Newly Weds Foods, ConAgra Foods, and The Schwan Food Company. In his most recent role, Frank served as Sr. Vice President of Operations for The Dole Food Company. Frank received a Bachelor of Arts from Northeastern Illinois University.

Barrett Knudson

Sr. Vice President - Global Sales

Barry Knudson is Senior Vice President, Global Sales, and brings to NuTek Food Science more than 20 years in sales and leadership experience spanning the commodity and grain-based ingredient industry. He is a veteran in the ingredients market and has held key leadership roles in sales, general management, and product management. Mr. Knudson joined Nutek Food Science from Ardent Mills where he was most recently Director of Sales; driving a variety of cross-functional initiatives within the strategic-customer segment. Mr. Knudson has also held senior sales leadership roles at ConAgra Foods and Ag Processing, Inc.

Dr. Jon A. Vanderhoof, M.D.

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Vanderhoof is an attending physician in GI/Nutrition at Boston  Children’s Hospital, Senior Lecturer in Pediatrics at the Harvard Medical School, and Professor Emeritus of Pediatrics at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. From 1976 to 2006 he was the Chief of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and served as Chair of Pediatrics at Creighton University from 1989 to 1993.   He was Vice President, Global Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer, for Mead Johnson Nutrition from 2002 to 2011.   Dr. Vanderhoof received his doctor of medicine degree in 1972 from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and completed his fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the University of California at Los Angeles in 1976.

Dr. Vanderhoof has published roughly 160 refereed papers in various areas of pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition and has written comparable numbers of chapters and reviews on areas such as probiotics.   He served as President of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition from 1986 to 1988, and he has served on the Editorial Boards of numerous scientific and clinical journals.  He has lectured widely both nationally and internationally on a variety of issues related to all areas of pediatric gastrointestinal disease and nutrition.  Dr Vanderhoof received the Shwachman Award in 2001 from the North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, the highest award in North America given in the field of Pediatric Gastroenterology.
